Life without Exams... Part 2

Okay, let's continue to the Part 2 of the story. Previously, in Part 1 I was still in KL, and had done a little of shopping. Now, this part marks my second station, Malacca (as usual =.=) and what I did throughout my stay.

The first night, we had dinner in Nando's

During the stay in Malacca, I was chasing a Singaporean drama, The Little Nyonya, fully recommended by Nicole. Here's the casting:

I think, everyone from Mediacorp participated in this drama.

This drama talks about the life and the love of Baba and Nyonya. This story starts with a scene in Malacca and one the descendants from one of the Baba family flashbacks the story of her great-great-grandma..This story revolves around woman, love and foods, and of course Nyonya foods. Thus after watching this drama, I have the urge to try out the foods, and so happen I am in Malacca, and so happen there was night market nearby, and so happen there were hawkers selling Nyonya kueh! Hence, I bought some of these Nyonya Kueh:
The most famous kueh in the drama

Since small, I call it as Kueh Koci. I don't know whether this is the right name for this kueh or not. Pai-seh

Where's another one? Inside someone's mouth =.=

I did nothing much in Malacca, just went to Padini's Concept Store to buy a purse for myself. I actually wanna buy a purse which is a match to my BF's one (from SEED), but they are out-of-stock, or maybe I guess it's discontinued since I bought his wallet 2 to 3 years back. Sad :(

Oh ya, during that few days, my family received the wedding biscuit delivered by my uncle. His daughter (my closest cousin sister) is going to get marry soon. Jane and Heng :) Can't wait to attend their wedding dinner.
The box

The wedding biscuit. It's quite delicious ;)

Will blog about the recently newly opened pet shop in Mentakab soon :) We are dog-lovers.. Lurvveeee doggies.... :D

Life without Exams... Part 1

As everyone knows, I am currently back in hometown, and have nothing much to do, other than waiting for my results to come out. Thus, I had been relax-ing around like accompany my mom to the market, shopping, attend functions, dinners, bla bla bla. Actually, my schedule is quite packed, starting from the month of July (yea, I know, it's the month of my birthday). Anyway, this post is about what I had done for the past few weeks in my life without exams :D

First, camwhore a bit of myself using my sis's handphone, as mine had been sent to repair (the hash button had gone haywire :P)

Next, I was back in KL to pack my things, as I am moving out from Vista Komanwel. Anyway, before packing up, I manage to squeeze some time, not some time, is lotsa time, like 2 days to shop for my dress for Jane's wedding!
Tried this at Voir

At the end, I bought this :) ♥

The next day, as we had nothing to do, again, BF suggest we go out for a walk. Woah. First time he asked me wanna go shopping or not. Normally he is the one who complaint I shop to much. Weird, weird, weird. Anyway, who cares. We headed to Mid Valley jalan-jalan and then we had our dinner in Manhattan Fish Market. Always my favourite.
Starter picture, ignore my swollen eyes

Our starter, Crispy Whitebait
Delicious deep fried Whitebait on a bed of Coleslaw

Mushroom soup

Strictly for Sharing - Manhattan Seafood Platter for Two
Deep fried fish fillet, calamari, oysters, flaming prawns with chips and garlic rice
(Since both of us don't fancy oysters, we asked to change it to Calamari.
So, we have extra Calamari! My fave! ♥)

After 20 minutes.....

Another 10 minutes..
Both of us really can't finish the whole plate of it..

Just now cannot finish the chips, now wanna eat burger pulak

I thought you were very full just now??

There goes the shopping journey of mine. Need to come back to the reality. Moving out soon. I'm gonna miss here so much..

One sad case :(

Well, there goes the story of my life in KL for that few days. Gonna miss KL so much. Never mind, I will be back SOON!!

p/s: Wait for the Part 2 of this post!!

Adios!

In Loving Memory of Michael Jackson, 29 August 1958 - 25 June 2009

I watched the repeat show of Michael Jackson (MJ) Memorial Service yesterday night at 8tv, as I had missed out the live show a day before (can’t wake up at 1 am to watch it). From the show, one must admit that MJ is really the King of Pop, and no one, no one will be able to replace his place in our heart. Many big celebrities and superstars attended, and even performed in front of MJ (he was place right in front of the stage of the hall). Superstars like Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, Usher, John Mayer, even Kobe Bryant and Mike Tyson!

MJ’s friends and relatives gave their speech, one by one on the stage. I personally was touched by the speech given by Brooke Shields, an ex-girlfriend of MJ (Just knew it from the today’s paper J). The way she expressed how she and MJ were life-long friends, things that they did together, and all the happy moments they had shared together had touched me. I am surprised that I actually felt really sad while watching the show. I cannot say I am the biggest fan of MJ, yes I listened to his songs, yes I sang his songs, yes I like his songs, but I know I am nothing compared to those who really really adores him, but still, I felt sad. I felt sad for him, felt sad for what he had gone through, felt sad for what he had been feeling. But now, all of us know, he is free from everything, and will be watching us from the top.

At the ending of the memorial service, everyone went up on stage and sang “We are the World” and “Heal the World”. Both songs are very meaningful and touching, especially “Heal the World”:

Heal the world, make it a better place,
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying, if you care enough for the living,
make a better place for you and for me, you and for me.

I know, the lyrics will forever be remembered by his fans.

God Bless You, Michael. You will always be in our heart, always.
